For cricket you will need equipment, people and some personal gear. To play the game, the equipment you will need is wickets, cricket balls and bats. Some optional items are leg guards, cricket helmets, keeper gloves and batting gloves. The wickets need to be facing opposite each other and 2 people will be will be standing next to the wickets with a bat. Then one person will be a wicket keeper, who will be standing behind the wicket and one person will be the bowler. For personal gear you will need things like sunscreen, hat, shoes, appropriate clothing and water. It will also be awesome if you have a large field area to play in otherwise a small field or a back yard will be good to. Just make sure you don’t bat too hard or you might break a window.

Cricket is an amazing game but before you play, you need know the responsibility of each player.

The job of a bowler is to bowl the ball to the batter. To be a bowler you need to learn the correct way of bowling. To hold the ball you need to have your fingers like bunny ears but with your thumb sticking out. The rest of your fingers stay down.

(If you are totally confused with what I said, then just look at the picture and follow it.) To bowl you have to run up, swing your right arm back and have your left arm point towards the sky, then with speed, pull your left arm down and have your right arm follow through. When you follow through make sure your arm is straight and release the ball when it is in the air.

The job of a batter is to hit the ball when the bowler bowls. Their will be two batters and when one of them has hit the ball, they both run to their opposite wicket. To hold the bat, you need to have your left hand on top of the handle and your right hand beneath it. If you are right handed, you need to stand sideways with your left shoulder facing the bowler. If you are left handed do the opposite. To hit the ball you need to swing the bat backwards then forward when the cricket ball come close to you.

The task of a wicket keeper is to stop the batsmen from scoring runs. You can do this by catching the ball before it touches the ground or getting the fielder to give the ball to you so you can quickly touch the wicket before the batter does.

The job of the fielder is to quickly get the ball that is hit by the batter and return it to the wicket keeper to reduce the number of runs. You can also catch the ball without it bouncing to get the batter out. If you are a fielder try to spread out in the field so you can get the ball quickly.

To play cricket you also need to know the rules and how to get people out or score runs. 22 people can play this game. There will be 11  people on each team. The fielding team consists of a bowler, a wicket keeper and fielders and the batting team consist of batsmen. The game begins with the bowler bowling the ball to the batter. If the batsmen hits the ball then both batters will run to the opposite wicket and see how much points they can get. If the batter misses the ball but the ball touches the wicket, the bat or the batsmen foot then the he is out. If he misses it without anything touching the ball then nothing happens. The batter just gets another turn. The bowler gets to have 1 over and then it is someone else's turn. At the end, the team with the most runs win.

Cricket is a fun, fast and active game. Just follow these rules and you will become an expert in no time.
